Churches to reopen for Sunday Mass this weekend

Kota Kinabalu: After a three-month closure, Church parishes in the Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu will reopen its doors for public Masses on the weekend of July 12.Archbishop John Wong said the decision to reopen was made after consulting all quarters and Masses will be conducted according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued for churches and places of worship.

John said despite the resumption of masses, there will be a limited capacity of mass congregants in the church to comply with social distancing.
“That means not all church goers can go to Mass as and when they like,” he said in a pastoral letter to the Archdiocese on Thursday.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

“Our wait to freely attend Mass will be shortened if everyone adheres strictly to the protocol,” he added.
John said those who are unable to attend Mass at the church can still access live streaming of masses online.
