New leadership at Rotary Club of KK

Kota Kinabalu: Prashad Mathew Koshy (pic) has taken over the helm of the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu (RCKK) from Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Kamaruzaman Hj Ampon.

Some of the projects carried out included providing food aid for more than 3,000 families with a budget of RM200,000. Areas covered included Sepanggar, Manggatal, Tuaran, Inanam, Likas, Kiulu and Sapulut. 

A special mention of appreciation to OCBC bank for their support of RM45,000 and Penalaju Sdn Bhd for a contribution of RM15,000 and to many others for their generous contributions to a good cause.  

Koshy as the 69th President of the oldest Rotary club in Sabah said he will continue the projects that create goodwill and have a social impact in society. 

He said Rotary International has given a Global Grant to the tune of RM200,000 which will be used to buy PPE for the hospitals and for the existing Food Aid programmes. 

He also said RCKK was honoured to work with Yayasan Sime Darby on the Food Aid programme sponsoring 500 families in the Inanam and Kiulu areas.  

He acknowledged the efforts of all the past 68 Presidents of RCKK since 1952 for their contribution and efforts for the various causes that they stood for.  

This year’s Rotary International (RI) theme is “Rotary opens opportunities”. RI is an international membership organisation whose stated purpose is to bring together businessmen and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace.  

This year the Board comprise DSP Dr Kamaruzaman (Immediate Past President), Kevin Lim (President Elect), Joshua Ho (VP), Thor Grevasi (Hon Secretary), Eden Chang (Hon Treasurer), Directors are Daniel Wong, Vector Tsen, Dominic Chung, Amirul Hisham bin Hj Ismail and Benjamin Lo.
