Tenom: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Keningau branch, together with enforcement agencies in this district carried out an integrated operation here.

The operation, which also involved the police, Tenom District Council, Tenom Area Health Office and KPDNHEP Beaufort, was led by KPDNHEP Keningau branch chief Awang Azri Biahi.

Awang Azri said the operation aimed to ensure that traders always comply with the legal provisions enforced by KPDNHEP, as well as other laws under the relevant agencies.

He said the operation focused on the general market, tamu ground and business premises.

“In this operation, special inspections are monitored on price tagging and weighing, as well as the supply situation and the prices of daily necessities.

“We also make sure that the traders comply with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) under the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), which is still in force, to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” he said.

He also said KPDNHEP will regularly inspect business premises in the district to ensure the traders comply with the laws and regulations.
