Tawau schools carry out disinfecting exercise

TAWAU: SJKC Sin Hwa, SJKC Yuk Chin and SJKC Hing Hwa in Tawau have carried out several measures including cleaning and disinfection of the school environment surfaces before the schools reopen today (July 15).The cleaning and disinfection were carried out in classrooms, teachers’ room, toilets, canteen, hall, and corridors as well as within the surroundings, so that the pupils could have a safer learning environment.

Principal of SJKC Sin Hwa, Chu Voon Fui and Chairman of the school board, Shim Nyuk Min thanked health team leader of Tawau council, Councillor Datuk Chin Chee Syn for the disinfection at the school.
They also thanked the district Health Department for carrying out dengue control exercise in the school compound.
Chu said the school was ready to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) as provided by the Malaysian Education Ministry. As usual, all educators, staffs, pupils and parents must put on face masks once they enter the school compound. They also must undergo temperature test and apply hand sanitiser.
She also urged all parents to test their children temperature at home and ensure they are healthy before sending them to school every day.

“I also want to thank the school board of directors for installing sufficient number of sinks in the school compound for the pupils to wash their hands regularly,” she added.
Meanwhile, Principal of SJKC Yuk Chin, Pang Dan Fung also expressed her gratitude to the council, especially Datuk Chin and the district health department for their efforts in carrying out disinfection and dengue prevention exercise in the school compound including classrooms, canteen, walkways, hall and toilets.
