RANAU: Chief Minister Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal has lauded a call by Sarawak’s top leadership that the number of Parliamentary seats in both Borneo states must be increased in the next General Election.
“Sabah and Sarawak must have representatives in up to one third of the total number of Parliamentary constituencies throughout the country," said Shafie on Saturday.

“This issue is not covered inside the MA63 or Malaysia Agreement 1963, but at that time, when Singapore exited Malaysia and over 20 seats were lost as a consequence, those seats were replaced by the creation of additional seats in the peninsula."
