Kota Kinabalu: Four entertainment outlets here were compounded for allowing people to patronise their premises during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

City Police Chief ACP Habibi Majinji said they were found committing the offence during police patrol from 12.05am to 2am at Waterfront and Karamunsing Capital.

He said the outlets also failed to ensure the patrons practise social distancing, an offence under the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Regulations (No.7), Regulation 3, and punishable under Regulation 11 of the same rule, which carries a maximum fine of RM1,000 or imprisonment up to six months, or both, upon conviction.

A total of 23 policemen, comprising five officers and 18 personnel, from the Sabah Narcotic Crime Investigation and City Police Narcotic Crime Division were involved in the operation.
