Kota Kinabalu: The Higher Education Ministry (Mohe) channelled a project grant worth RM2.349 million towards a collaborative university-industry project involving Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Denim Care Sdn Bhd.

According to Mohe Research Excellence Division Director Prof Dato Dr Muhammad Fauzi Mohd Zain, the grant will fund the pre-commercialisation of the “Malaysia Laboratories for Academia-Business Collaboration (MyLAB): Development of New Formulated Urethane Based Denim Indigo Dye Fixing Agent for Denim Finishing Application” project.

The MyLAB grant will specifically aid researchers in coming up with innovative inventions, which will enable them to produce a more comprehensive solution for commercialisation.
