Kota Kinabalu: The oldest cooperative in the State, the Sabah Government Employees Cooperative Society Berhad (Kopeks), has come a long way since its establishment 57 years ago on Aug 11, 1963.
As of June 30, its value of member loan assets has reached RM62,184,051.32 and it currently has a total of 8,389 members.

“Kopeks was initially established under the name Sabah Civil Service Thrift and Loan Co-Operative Society,” said Kopeks Assistant Administrator, Datu Mohd Rais Aslam Datu Jamigul during a ceremony in conjunction with Kopeks 57th Anniversary held at Wisma Kopeks, here, Tuesday.
