Election reform panel has solution on party-hopping

Kota Kinabalu: The Election Reform Committee (ERC) for free, fair and clean elections will submit to the Federal Government at the end of this month 49 recommendations that include ending the unhealthy practice of party-hopping.“We have a recommendation on this (stop party-hopping), but I will not reveal it now...I am confident if we apply it party-hopping will stop,” ERC Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman told reporters after he opening a workshop on amendment to the Election Offences Act 1954 organised by Bersih 2.0 at Hyatt Regency Kota Kinabalu, Wednesday.
Abdul Rashid, who is former Election Commission (EC) Chairman, said it is not about an Anti-Hop Law.
