Businessman freed from CBT charge

Kota Kinabalu: A 42-year-old local businessman was freed from a charge of committing criminal breach of trust involving a sum of RM440,000.Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus discharged and acquitted Tee Hong Wee after ruling that the prosecution had failed to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt against Tee.ADVERTISEMENT
The charge against Tee stated that Tee as the Managing Director of Syarikat Chang Cheng Realty Sdn Bhd, was entrusted with the payment for two houses valued at RM440,000 but breached the trust placed in him.
He allegedly committed the offence on August 2013 at the HSBC bank in Jalan Gaya, here.
The offence under Section 409 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between two years and 20 years and with whipping, and liability of a fine, on conviction.

Meanwhile, a man claimed trial to taking syabu repeatedly. Harold Clint made the plea after the prosecution informed the court that the pathology report and Harold’s previous conviction records from Bukit Aman are ready.
