Another death in Sabah, 124 new cases

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded one Covid-19 death on Sunday, making it the 12th in the State. 

The fatality involved an 81-year-old woman who experienced symptoms on Sept 14 and was screened at Semporna Hospital on Sept 17, where she was found positive for the coronavirus on Sept 22. 

On Sept 26, she was transferred to Tawau Hospital. Due to her declining condition, she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the same day and died the next day. 

Meanwhile, Sabah recorded 124 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the tally to 1,670 on Sunday. The cases were detected in Lahad Datu (53), Semporna (41), Kunak (10), Tawau (6), Kinabatangan (5), Sipitang (3), Kota Kinabalu (2), Penampang (1), Pitas (1), Putatan (1) and Kota Marudu (1). 

The Benteng cluster registered 58 cases involving there foreigners, 12 new cases were recorded in the Bangau-Bangau cluster involving eight foreigners whereas the Pulau cluster recorded 10 cases involving one foreigner. 

The Malaysian Health Ministry also identified two new clusters, Kg Sakong cluster eight cases and Buang Sayang cluster three cases. 

Meanwhile, 15 recovered cases were recorded, bringing the cumulative total to 823 on Sunday.  

There are 835 active cases still warded, to date, at designated hospitals throughout Sabah.

Tawau topped the list of cumulative cases with 725 followed by Lahad Datu (290), Semporna (260),Kota Kinabalu (88), Kunak (73), Sandakan (44), Tuaran (33), Kinabatangan (33),  Penampang (25), Keningau (21), Beaufort (16), Putatan (11), Papar (8), Sipitang (8),  Kota Belud (7), Tongod (5), Ranau (5), Tambunan (3), Pitas (3)  Nabawan (2) Beluran (2), and Kota Marudu (2).
