(pic) could be the strongest in line for consideration of Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor to nominate a Chinese affairs minister from among the six nominated assemblyman quota, as Yong’s party is a member of and contested under the PN umbrella.
Hajiji, in his first press conference, said he would consider the matter as only Tulid constituency winner Flovia Ng, from Gabungan Rakyat (GRS) component party – Star, also a PN component member, has a Chinese surname.

Other choices include from the Barisan Nasional’s component party – MCA and PBS deputy president Dr Yee Moh Chai, whose party is a member of GRS.
