Kuala Lumpur: Bina Puri Holdings Bhd, through its joint-venture, SPTK Joint Venture Co Ltd (SPTK JV), has won a bid for a package worth 7.75 billion baht (RM1.036 billion) for the high-speed railway (HSR) project in Thailand.Bina Puri’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Bina Puri Sdn Bhd (BPSB) together with NPA Construction Co Ltd and Tim Sekata Sdn Bhd have entered into a JV agreement to form SPTK JV to construct the project.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Bina Puri said SPTK JV had secured the civil works for Khok Kruat-Nakhon Ratchasim section under Phase 1 Bangkok-Nakhon Ratchasima section of the HSR project, which will connect the regions in Bangkok-Nong Khai section.
State Railway of Thailand recently announced that SPTK JV is the successful bidder for the project, which is a cooperation between the Thai and Chinese governments.
Bina Puri group executive director Datuk Matthew Tee said the total length of the package is 13.68 kilometres (km) comprising a railway route measuring 12.38 km.
The project also involves the construction of a new station, Phu Kao Lat Station, and the renovation of an existing station, Nakorn Ratchasima Station.

“The scope of works include earthworks, retaining wall, noise barrier, piling work, railway structures, building services, electrical and mechanical work, road work, piping and drainage work, and utilities,” he said.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
