Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency’s (MMEA) Sea Monitoring System (Swasla) has again proven its efficiency in detecting offences at sea.The latest success was the detection of a local fishing boat found violating the stipulated license by carrying out fishing activities less than three nautical miles west off Tg Lok Pisuk in Tuaran.

Sabah and Labuan MMEA Director, First Admiral Mohd Rosli Abdullah in a statement, here, Thursday, said that all activities that look suspicious at sea can be detected by Swasla such as fish bombing, illegal trawling, entry of foreign fishing boats and smuggling.
