Filipino archbishop praises newly installed cardinal

COTABATO: Cotabato Archbishop Emeritus Orlando Cardinal Quevedo on Sunday greeted Philippines’ new cardinal Capiz Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula.Cardinal Quevedo said that Cardinal Advincula has had a lot of experiences to guide him through his new task as an aide of the Pope in the Philippine Church.

According to Quevedo, he witnessed Advincula’s journey since the new cardinal was teaching at the Vigan School of Theology, and that many praised him for being a good teacher and pastor.
“Congratulations and prayers to Archbishop Joe Advincula as he becomes Jose Cardinal Advincula, Cardinal Priest. I remember him as a young priest from Roxas City, assigned to teach Theology in the Vigan School of Theology for a few years.
“He was admired as a teacher and friend of the seminarians. He would attend their ordinations even when he had returned to Roxas City.
