Indonesian killed in landslide

Tuaran: A 43-year-old Indonesian was killed in a landslide which occurred at Jalan Lama Tuaran, Bandar Sierra, near here, on Wednesday.The Lintas Fire and Rescue Station received an emergency call at 4.09pm via MERS 999 and deployed eight personnel along with one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle led by Senior Officer Rozam Shah Rahmat to the scene. The rescue team managed to remove the victim who was buried under earth following the landslide, which occurred while he was carrying out work using an excavator.

“The victim, identified as Sukirman Rappe, was successfully retrieved at 5.20pm, but was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer.
“The victim was later handed over to the police for further action,” he said.
