Kota Kinabalu: Sabah police will propose to the State Government to allow people to travel more than 10km from home to buy essentials during the current Movement Control Order (MCO).

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali said he would make the suggestion to the State Security Council as many people lived beyond 10km from the closest township.

“The districts in Sabah are large and many residents, especially those in remote areas, have to travel more than 10km to buy necessities.

“For example, for those in Sabindo, Papar, it is very far for them to go to Papar town but closer for them to cross into the Putatan district to buy essential goods.

“Similarly, people in Tongod have to go to Telupid district to get essential household items.
