Kota Kinabalu: Kampung Kopungit here will witness a major disaster if no action is taken to fix the poor drainage system serving scores of houses hugging the contours of the hill fronting the Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1.
The warning came from Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Supreme Council member Goon Thien Shang after five landslides during recent incessant heavy rains leaving several houses in a precarious position.

Goon who was distributing food aid at the hillside village on Tuesday said the landslides damaged the houses of six families in blocks A and B.
They are now taking shelter with relatives while others are putting up at the village’s food stall ground.
