KOTA BELUD: The body of fisherman Norjan Sitong was found on the Kg Kuala Abai coast early Tuesday – a day after he was reported missing.  The 38-year-old from Kg Kulambai was found at about 7am by villagers assisted by police and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.

He was believed to have gone missing when his boat capsized after being hit by choppy waves near the Sungai Abai estuary.  Kota Belud Police Chief Supt Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said they activated a search and rescue operation after being informed of the incident at about midnight.  Initial findings showed that the incident took place at about 9am when the deceased and his brother, Norzeli Sitong, 35, were returning after fishing in the Kuala Abai waters.  The younger sibling managed to swim to shore before seeking help from villagers to inform the authorities.  The remains were been sent to the Kota Belud Hospital for post mortem. The operations ended about 9.30am and the case has been classified as sudden death.
