TAWAU: About 95 per cent of the people here adhered to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0, said district police chief ACP Peter Umbuas (pic).

The percentage, he said, was based on the analysis made by the police during the implementation of MCO since Jan 13.

On the difficulties faced by residents in Kalabakan-Merotai-Bombalai and Jalan Apas who need to get permission from the police station if they want to go to town, Peter said it is part of the SOPs set by the National Security Council (NSC).

Those locations are located more than 10 kilometres from the town.
