Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s true Covid-19 situation will only be known at least two weeks after the start of the Movement Control Order (MCO) imposed on Jan. 13, said Sabah’s Covid-19 Spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
He was responding to a question on whether the current MCO is effective in bringing down the number of cases, given that Sabah’s cases are still at a three-digit high despite restrictions imposed by authorities.

With 406 positive Covid-19 cases reported in the State on Wednesday, Masidi said the current number were those detected before the MCO was enforced.
“Today is the eighth day since the MCO was announced, and eight days is too early to judge its effectiveness. If you assume the (Covid-19) incubation period is 10 days, it means that its effectiveness can only be seen after the 10th day,” he said.
