City Hall to probe claims

CITY Hall is investigating a claim by a Kolombong factory owner about the presence of swiftlets farming next to their premises in Sedco Industrial Estate.The complainant brought the issue, which he claimed they have been observing the goings-on at the nearby commercial building concerned since last year, to Hotline recently.

“The repetitive chirping noises which aggravates by their audio music are driving us up the wall,” stressed ERNEST, who is concerned about the health hazard the droppings posed to people.
A City Hall spokeswoman said the matter would be checked soon as possible.
“It’s too premature to comment about the situation at the moment but we will elaborate our findings to him later,” she added.
According to the complainant, they managed to pinpoint the source of the irritating noises was coming from after a while.

“We had difficulty locating its source at first but we managed to identify it later,” he claimed, who added that the chirping noises from the pre-recorded audio was played from morning until dusk.
He stressed that such farming is not suitable to be done in any industrial estate due to the dangerous effects it pose to people.
