Man denies taking drugs again

Kota Kinabalu: A man claimed trial to taking drugs for the third time.Johan G Pedimus made the plea before Sessions Court Judge Abu Bakar Manat after the charge was read to him.

Johan is accused of taking syabu at 7.45pm on April 21 this year in Penampang.
The charge states that he has two previous conviction records for taking drugs.
The offence under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and punishable under Section 39C(1) of the same Act which provides for a jail term of between five and seven years, and whipping, upon conviction.
The court set July 6 for mention pending the pathologist report and Johan was ordered remanded further pending the date.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Amirah Muhammad Ali appeared for the prosecution while Johan was not represented.
In the Magistrate’s Court, two men were charged separately with taking syabu.

Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles set July 13 for mention their case and released them on bail of RM1,100 in two local sureties each.
