Man charged with two counts of threatening sister, mum

Kota Kinabalu: An unemployed man was charged at the Magistrate’s Court, Thursday, on two counts of threatening his sister and mother early this month.Mohd Faizar Abdullah, 26, pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun after the charges against him, was read out to him. On the first count, Faizar was accused of taking a lighter and threatened his sister one Tarasia Abdullah, 28, that he would burn their family home at 12.30pm on June 7 in the Telipok placement scheme, Manggatal.ADVERTISEMENT
Faizar on the second count allegedly threatened to kill or cause severe injury to his mother Lilinda Baie, 58, by pointing knife to her neck at the same place and time.

Inspector Albert Basiri, prosecuting, in applying for another mention date during the proceedings which was held via video conferencing, objected bail for the accused on grounds that the complainants were Faizar’s family members and that they were staying in the same house.
Jessica set case management on July 15 and 23 and ordered Faizar be remanded further.
