Kota Kinabalu: Malaysia’s top palm oil producer, Sabah with output from other palm oil producing states helped to boost export value to surpass the RM100 billion mark for the first time since July 2017 it was backed also by higher global demand for electrical and electronic items like semiconductors used in 5G technology and high performance computing, resourced based products like chemicals and rubber products that Sabah also contributed to from its oil and gas, and latex outputs.
Malaysia’s imports also grew at the highest rate since October 2017, up 19.2 per cent year-on-year to RM80.79 billion.
