Kota Kinabalu: Triathlete Yatim Zainal Abidin will only carry out simulation training upon his arrival in Samorin, Slovakia before the start of the Challenge-family The Championship scheduled on  August 29.

The 45-year-old, who is due to leave the country on August 14, said this after receiving sponsorship from the Youth and Sports Ministry through its Minister Datuk Ellron Angin on Monday.

“I am in top shape with no injury issues right now but I am not able to do simulation training here due to high tide.

“However, I will do that once I arrive in Samorin because I still have two weeks to prepare before the start of the race,” he said.

Meanwhile, he also expressed his gratitude to Ellron who has given some words of encouragement.

“I am very touched by Datuk Ellron for his words to motivate me and also to the Ministry for the financial support which contributed a lot for my training and travelling expenses,” he added.
