Body of missing teen found

Tuaran: The body of a teenager who went missing while swimming with three friends in the beach near Kg Sekudung Serusup here on Aug 13 was found early Sunday.

The remains of Mohamad Amar Qayyum Rasmi, 15, was found at 8.13am by villagers with help from the search and rescue team.

Tuaran Fire and Rescue Station Chief Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar said the search and rescue which lasted three-days involved canines from the K9 Unit, marine police, Civil Defence Force and the Fire and Rescue Department.

The body was found in a mangrove area some six kilometres from where the victim was last seen.

“The remains were handed over to the police and the Ministry of Health for further action,” he said, adding that the operation ended at about 9.30am.
