RANAU: The district’s Vaccination Centre (PPV) at the Ranau Community Hall, records 63.52 per cent of the population having received the first dose of injection and 39.86 per cent having completed the second dose injection out of 78,200 residents eligible to be vaccinated to curb the Covid-19 pandemic here.

Ranau District Health Department Medical Officer as the Chief Coordinating Officer of the PPV, Dr Edwaider Koimon said the number of people who are aware of the importance of receiving the vaccine has increased and understand that the vaccine is a protection for themselves, families and communities against infection of Covid-19.

“We expect more people to come forward to receive vaccine injections for the benefit of all parties,” explained Dr Edwaider.

Media survey to PPV Dewan Masyarakat Ranau on the morning of Aug 25 found that 1,084 people, or 400 for the first doses and 684 for their second doses, including the elderly and People with Disabilities (OKU) were present to get their injections.

Many were relieved to have fulfilled their responsibility to receive injections to curb the Covid-19 infection that is still plaguing the world.

“We must abide by the government’s directive to jointly combat the Covid-19 chain, ‘Protect Yourself, Protect All,” explained Hakim Lahat 67, from Kg Paka Dua Ranau, accompanied by his son Faizal.
