Collapsed Keningau road closed temporarily, motorists advised to detour

KENINGAU: Sections of KM14 and KM18 of the Keningau-Apin-Apin road at Kampung Liau Laut and Kampung Kikiran, here, were closed after a collapse early Friday morning.
The Public Works Department's Keningau Division Engineer Zulkefli Salip Arjud, when contacted, said repair works on the damage were done immediately.

"In this regard, I ask the residents of this district who want to go to Apin-Apin or Tambunan district to use the Magatang-Ranggom Kapayan road," he said.

Meanwhile, Assistant Works Minister Datuk Robert Tawik @ Nordin, who rushed to the location after receiving complaints from the public, said the road collapsed due to soil erosion because of heavy rain overnight in the district.
