Kota Kinabalu: Warisan said that Sabah should now focus on reviving the state's tourism industry with the lifting of the ban on inter-state and inter-district travels.

Its president, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, said the tourism sector, Sabah's third largest revenue earner, needs all the help it can get to get back on its feet.

"So many hotels, homestays, attraction sites and other tourism-related businesses were forced to close due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic," he said in a statement.

"It has been more than 18 months since we were hit by the virus and these businesses have either not been in full operation or just stopped operating.

"Many have lost their jobs, some hotels and homestays are probably run down by now and vehicles like tour buses and vans are parked somewhere not being used."
