Beaufort firefighters collect 52 pints of blood

BEAUFORT: The community along with the firefighters as well as volunteer firefighters donated blood to increase supply at the Beaufort Hospital blood bank here in a campaign held on Oct 21 and 22.Beaufort Fire and Rescue Department Chief Mohammad Hasbullah Nenggok said the campaign which was organised by the fire and rescue station, had managed to collect 52 pints of blood.

“Apart from firefighter’s officers and personnel, volunteers from Kg Lubok, Kg Rancangan Klias and Kg Gadong along with the public also participated in the campaign.
“This campaign is being done with the cooperation of staff from the blood supply unit at Beaufort hospital with the aim of increasing the number of blood supplies.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

“Firefighters not only play a role in rescuing people through various operations carried out but also by donating blood,” he said.
According to Mohammad Hasbullah, the blood supply will be able to help many patients in need such as Thalassemia patients or patients who have suffered serious injuries as a result of accidents.
