Gambling: Power to 12 Tuaran premises cut

Tuaran: Twelve premises suspected of carrying out unlicensed gambling activities here had their power supply cut off during a raid on Oct 26.The 9am-5pm raid involved Pekan Tuaran, Taman Sri Rugading, Taman Telipok Ria, Taman Telipok Square and Pekan Tamparuli.

Tuaran District Police Chief DSP Mohd Hamizi Halim said on Wednesday that the operation was carried out in collaboration with Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB).
He said since January to date, Tuaran police recorded a total of 76 raids carried out and 90 individuals arrested with overall seizure amounting to RM120,000, including handphones, mobile printers and cash. He said they will continue to carry out operations to curb unlicensed gambling activities in the district and advise the public against engaging in such undertakings.
