PAPAR: Police detained another Filipino illegal immigrant – among the 14 who escaped from the Papar Immigration Detention Centre here – at Kampung Gusi, here, Friday.District Police Chief DSP Batholomew ak Umpit said the arrest added the tally of the recaptured to 10, with four more still at large.

“Acting on information, the suspect was picked up at 3.15pm.
“During the operation, two more suspects were detected but were able to evade arrest by swimming towards sea,” he said.
He said police along with the Immigration Department are currently searching for the remaining suspects, namely Nadzwin Usman, 24, Herman Bilau, 35, Pertama Lapanji, 40 and Husin Japar, 43.
In the incident on Wednesday, 14 detainees escaped from Papar Immigration Detention Centre at 3.30am but seven of them were recaptured the same day.
