PAPAR: A 20-year-old motorcyclist died on the spot following a collision with a four-wheel-drive (4WD) at Km 8, Jalan Baru Papar-Kota Kinabalu, here, early Friday.District Police Chief DSP Batholomew ak Umpit said the incident occurred at 3.30am when the motorcyclist entered the opposing lane while going downhill near Bukit Melinsung and crashed into the Toyota Hilux driven by a 65-year-old man.

“The 4WD which was heading towards Kota Kinabalu from Tenom could not avoid the collision with the motorcycle.
“The motorcyclist succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead by medical officers,” he said, adding the driver escaped unscathed.
