LAHAD DATU: Kumpulan Sawit Kinabalu, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the State Government, is the first plantation company to use the clearing of the invasive Salvinia molesta infestation with the introduction of Cyrtobagous salviniae weevils. This is to ensure that infestations do not occur on the water surface and endanger biodiversity and various freshwater species including fish and aquatic plants.
