TAWAU: Seven suspected addicts who were having a drug party were arrested in a raid on a dilapidated house in Block 31 in Jalan Apas, Sunday.Tawau District Police Chief ACP Peter Umbuas said the men aged between 20 and 34 were partying without realising that their antics were being watched by a police team led by ASP Mohd Nor Azaad Raman.

“When raided, they tried to escape but were caught,” said Peter.
According to Peter, all the suspects were taken to the Tawau police headquarters for further examination and urine tests showed all were positive for drugs.
Commenting further, he said the operation is just the beginning of a series of large-scale operations that will be carried out from time to time in an effort to combat substance abuse.
He called on the community to be the eyes and ears of the police by channelling information and cooperation, in line with the police slogan “polis dan masyarakat berpisah tiada.”
