Ridding the state of drugs
CHIEF Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor wants the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) to play an effective role in addressing the drug abuse problem in Sabah to ensure the people especially the younger generation is aware of its dangers.“All levels of society including government agencies, the private sector, industry players, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community leaders need to work with the Government in preventing and combating drug abuse in a comprehensive and holistic manner,” he said. He said this when witnessing the handing over of a contribution of RM3,000 by the National AADK Director-General, Sutekno Ahmad Belon to 15 NGOs in Sabah to help them run drug prevention and treatment programmes in the State. The allocation was approved during the State-level Anti-Drug Action Meeting.
