TAWAU: Security forces personnel detained eight foreigners who returned here after Hari Raya in Indonesia.Joint Task Force 2 Commander Brigadier General Abdul Karim Ahmad said the group on a speedboat landed at the water settlement area in Kampung Titingan at 4.15pm and took a taxi to the town here, on Sunday.

He said a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) team followed the taxi to Jalan Chen Fook.
“All the foreigners, comprising six men and a woman aged between 22 and 40 and a two-year-old girl, were detained for further action,” he said.
Abdul Karim said they have valid passports and work permits but without the stamp confirming entry to Sabah.
All of them who were from Sebatik Island, Indonesia told the authorities they came back to work.

They were taken to the Tawau District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further investigations under Section 6(3) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
