Be part of Sabah Foundation’s organisation, alumni told
Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak
Kota Kinabalu: Former Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak wants the Alumni of Sabah Foundation-Sponsored Association (Maya) to explore the possibility of becoming part of the Sabah Foundation’s organisational structure to further strengthen its role in improving the standard of education in the State.

He said Maya needs to have a good relationship with the Sabah Foundation, which has been instrumental in providing educational opportunities to the people.

“Maya should take a progressive approach and not just be used as a platform to reminisce about past events or nostalgia,” he said.

Salleh, who is also Usukan Assemblyman and Chairman of Qhazanah Sdn Bhd, said this in his speech in conjunction with the Maya Trail Programme and Annual General Meeting here, Saturday.

He also called on members of Maya to join forces to look for funds to implement the various programmes planned, particularly those related to education.

Salleh hopes that Yayasan Sabah will continue to be the driving force behind the development of education, thus benefiting the people of Sabah.

“Apart from the Sabah Foundation College, the Sabah Foundation has also achieved success by setting up the Sabah Foundation University and in this case, I believe Maya can contribute in terms of ideas towards further advancing the development of education in the state,” he said.
