No more traffic lights at Lintas with opening of u-turn flyover

The opening of the Lintas flyover U-turn near Hilltop on Friday has smoothen the traffic flow along the route.
Kota Kinabalu: Road users from Kolombong and Luyang who wish to go to the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA), Penampang or Kepayan and vice versa will no longer have to pass through the traffic lights at Lintas Plaza, Lintas Square and Heritage Plaza following the opening of the Lintas U-turn flyover Friday.Public Works Department (PWD) Sabah Principal Assistant Director (Highway division) Ir. Mohammad Safri Abdul Habi told Daily Express that the traffic lights at Lintas Square, Lintas Plaza and Heritage Plaza have been removed to pave way for the opening of the Lintas flyover U-turn, Friday, which will smooth the traffic flow.

He said the motorists from Kepayan or KKIA and Kolombong or Luyang can now drive straight to their destinations without the hassle when passing through Jalan Lintas.
However, he said motorists coming from Kolombong and Luyang have to use the Lintas flyover U-turn if they wish to go to the Heritage Plaza, Lintas Square or Lintas Plaza.
Mohammad Safri said motorists need to be careful when reaching the road near Heritage Plaza as there is a road diversion either to go to the left for those heading to Lido and KKIA, and to the right heading to Luyang and Inanam.
