Kota Kinabalu: The Kaamatan Festival is a celebration to celebrate the success of the Malaysian Family in resolving any home dispute successfully.

Such translations, in the opinion of Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, can rekindle intimate kinship and familial harmony in Malaysia.

“When I learned how well-liked the Kaamatan Festival was, I was overjoyed.

“This demonstrates that the Kaamatan Festival may be enhanced further and is not just about celebrating the prosperity of the rice harvest.

“It should be a theme that the Kaamatan may use in the future to celebrate not just the achievement of the rice harvest, but also to celebrate our accomplishment as a community in solving any problem in the country,” he said.

Hamzah said at the Kuala Penyu level Kaamatan Celebration that all Malaysians, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or culture, should celebrate the yearly festival.
