Kota Kinabalu: Tarihing Masnim, the first Solar Mama in Malaysia, passed away in her village – Kg Sonsogon, Magandai, Kota Marudu – on Sunday. She was 48.

The sad news was conveyed by Solboy Majidin, a relative, who learnt it from Juprin Marudin, 60, the husband of the late Tarihing, who found her lying on the ground on his way back from the jungle.

“She was found no longer breathing when her husband saw her lying on the ground. He did not know that she had gone after him as she would usually wait at home,” said Solboy.
