Revised Tanjung Aru Eco Development Sdn Bhd masterplan approval likely soon
Ismail said design parameters considered include development cells and parcels, heritage and nature assets, relocation of schools and institutions, access and circulation, utilities corridors and easement, drainage, flood and pollution mitigation measures and Green infrastructure.
Kota Kinabalu: The revised Tanjung Aru Eco Development Sdn Bhd (TAED) masterplan for the beachfront project is expected to obtain approval in third quarter of 2023.

TAED gave an update on the development to members of the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) Sabah led by its Sabah branch Chairman, Ir. Razalie Sindong, at Sabah International Convention Centre.

The delegation of 12 committee members was met by TAED’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Datuk Ismail Abdullah.

Ismail said design parameters considered include development cells and parcels, heritage and nature assets, relocation of schools and institutions, access and circulation, utilities corridors and easement, drainage, flood and pollution mitigation measures and Green infrastructure.

“TAED believes that the newly revised masterplan will be more citizen-centric which includes more open and public spaces, no reclamation, no canal and public will have full access to the beach, existing 2km beachfront will remain and increased to approximately 2.5km long,” he said.

Razalie said TAED had also outlined that once the social impact study was completed, they would arrange to engage with the public as well as technical agencies for the revised masterplan before it is submitted for approval.

“ACEM Sabah has offered a close door engagement with TAED in giving technical input on the revise masterplan before it is submitted for approval and to collaborate with TAED in providing talks on technical matters during public engagement events,” he said.

The delegation of 12 ACEM committee members also comprised Datuk Ir. Chin Shu Ying, Ir. Song Perng Yeu, Ir. Wah Kheng Haw, Ir. Mohd Arzahri, Ir. Amirul Hisham, Ir. Tan Kok Jyh, Ir. Tan Koh Yon, Ir. Chow Wai Ming, and Ir. Lo Chong Chiun.
