Better not hold swimming events
Left: The scoreboard suffers frequent breakdowns and is usually left unrepaired during major competitions. Right: Audiences and participants have to endure unbearable heat at the pool area owing to the absence of power supply to the fans.
Kota Kinabalu: The pathetic state of facilities at the Likas Sport Complex swimming pool did not go unnoticed by members of the public who went to witness the three-day 54th Sabah Invitational Age Group Swimming Championship, recently.

They wondered where the State Government’s allocation to the Ministry was going and how the Minister as well as the Complex management could be ignorant of the conditions there.

“I was there throughout the event to give support to our junior swimmers as they were competing against those from the peninsula,” said one of them, who took pictures to support the allegation.
