Kota Kinabalu: A man who attempted suicide has gone missing after telling his roomate at University Condo Apartment 1, here, of his plans today.

According to a Fire and Rescue Department report, a friend had rushed home after receiving a cry for help from the 27-year-old man on WhatsApp.

The friend then alerted authorities at about 8.40am after finding the house empty.

“The man left behind a suicide note and a makeshift noose made out of clothes hanging from a ceiling fan," a spokesperson from the department said.

“The case has been handed over to the police for further action."
