RANAU: The people of Kundasang and Paginatan are urged to be patient for upgrading of the Tarawas-Karagasan road and Bongkud-Mansalu road are carried out.

The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Candidate for P179 Ranau Datuk Jonathan Yasin said the Tarawas-Karagasan road which costs about RM200 million and the Bongkud-Mansalu road which costs more than RM400 million are now in the tender process for the right contractor.

“Construction of the roads had been delayed due to Covid-19 since 2020,” said Jonathan, who is also the former MP and Deputy Minister II of Home Affairs.

He said the people are aware that the combination of parties united in the GRS provides a solid foundation for the people of Sabah to enjoy integrated and more sustainable progress than divided through many parties.

Jonathan faces four other challengers for the seat in GE15, namely Datuk Dr Ewon Ebin (PBRS), Taufik Dahlan (Pakatan Harapan), Markos Situn (Warisan) and Azizul Julirin (Pejuang).

Also present and speaking were the Deputy Chief Minister and Kundasang Assemblyman, Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam; Head of SAPP Ranau, Japril Bin Suhaimin; PPM Kundasang, Daunis Samy and others.
