Kota Kinabalu: Intensified State Government efforts to develop Tawau in the State’s east coast will bring immense economic benefits as Indonesia prepares to relocate its capital to Kalimantan, said Kukusan Assemblywoman Rina Jainal.
She said there was a need to upgrade Tawau Airport and expedite plans for the development of a smart city and make Tawau an efficient administrative centre.

She also hoped the Government would expedite the People’s Housing Projects (PPRs) in the district so as to resettle squatters around Kukusan.
