Crocodile caught in the net
The crocodile caught at the Kg Pasir beach.
SIPITANG: Two fishermen had a shock when they caught a two-metre crocodile in their fishing net which they initially thought was a big fish.

One of the fishermen, Suhari Suhaili, said the incident occurred near the Kg Pasir Aru beach on Wednesday.

“We thought we had caught a big fish as our net was quite heavy. When we dragged it to the shore, we found out that we caught a crocodile.

“We dared not go near the reptile as it was aggressive,” he said.

Sipitang Fire and Rescue Department Chief Calvin Joe Jeafrey advised the public not to swim in the area that has crocodiles.

“The crocodile in question is still on the loose and it is feared that it might attack those who go swimming or fishing there,” he said.
