Kota Kinabalu: Jubilo FC finished as Plate runners-up in the recent Kuala Lumpur Cup Seven-A-Side Football Tournament held at The New Camp in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya.
The Under-18 squad coached by former international Bobby Gonzales lost 0-1 to Praska Thailand in the final.

It was their second defeat to the Thai outfit in the tournament following another 0-1 loss in the group stage earlier.
They also lost 0-1 to Kuala Lumpur Youth Soccer team in the Group B tie but won the other two matches against Destiny FC Tigers of Selangor 2-0 and El Roi of Kuala Lumpur 2-1 to take the third spot and a quarterfinal berth.
A 0-1 loss to Destiny Eagles from Selangor denied them a place in the semi-final and in the Plate semi-final match that followed, they edged Destiny FC Tigers 1-0 to book a place in the final.
Despite failing to win the secondary title, Jubilo FC chief executive officer (CEO) Joe Datuk Golkhan praised the players and believed they have gained valuable experience.

“I’m very pleased sand personally, it was still an extraordinary achievement from the team. We gained valuable experience and learnt many lessons in the tournament, and it is important that we must stay focused and learn from the mistakes in order to make improvement and to become better.
“Hopefully we will continue to be successful in the future,” said Joe who also heads the Jubilo Football Academy (JFA).
