Kota Kinabalu: Passengers travelling long distance by bus from Tawau to Sandakan want the relevant authorities to step up monitoring and enforcement on operators, especially during festive seasons.
Their concern came after having to endure a more than six-hour journey in an overloaded bus which was not only uncomfortable but also posed serious safety risk.

“The bus was completely packed, with passengers forced to sit on the aisles,” said Mohd Ali, adding there were even women and children among those who had to squeeze in without proper seating.
Expressing his concern about the safety implications of such reckless overcrowding, he said “Not only is it extremely uncomfortable for the passengers, but it also puts all our lives at risk.”
